My first taste of X-Rated Fusion Liqueur was a year ago on summer vacation in Maine. The interesting cocktail menu at One Dock in Kennebunkport offered an X-Rated Martini and it sounded to fetching to pass up. The drink itself was a delightful pink hue and had a summery sweet and sour kick. I loved it and determined to buy a bottle of that liqueur. But somehow a year passed and it always fell down the list as we experimented with other delectable concoctions.
The recent arrive of summer brought to mind last year's wonderful vacation and I began talking about the X-Rated drink again. So when Brian was at a liquor depot stocking us up, he remembered and bought a bottle.
Our summer drink of choice is normally the frozen daiquiri and, more recently, we've been experimenting with frozen sorbet drinks. Not milkshakes with a bit of alcohol, mind you, but just a hint of sweet and sour sorbets to add creaminess and tang to powerful drinks. But that aside, there are a number of fruity, well-blended mixers that are perfect for summer cocktails and X-Rated Fusion, a blend of vodka, blood orange, mango and passion fruit, is definitely one of them. And, unlike our blender drinks, it's quickly mixed up in a shaker for a refreshing summer cocktail. Cheers!
Per Serving:
2 oz. Vodka
1 1/2 oz. X-Rated Fusion Liqueur
1/2 oz. Lemon Juice
1/2 oz. Simple syrup
Pour all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake well. Pour into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry and a wedge of lemon.
The title alone makes me want to drink it. What a lovely shade for a drink too...it just begs to be drunk :)
