Creamy Banana Daiquiri
When I was growing up, my favorite flavor was banana and I still do love it. But, as an adult, why not give it a little kick? Frozen banana daiquiris are fine but usually too sweet and too light on alcohol so it's like drinking a milkshake.
But I set off to make a daiquiri that both packs a little punch and has real banana flavor. With a little mint to balance the sweetness, it's absolutely scrumptious. Cheers!
Per Serving:
2 oz. Rum
1 oz. Triple Sec
1 oz. Lime juice
1/2 oz. Simple syrup
1/2 Small or 1/3 of a large banana
1 1/2 oz. Vanilla ice cream
1/2 oz. Water
Small handful of fresh mint
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and pour into a chilled daiquiri glass. Garnish with a sprig of mint or a slice of banana that's been dipped in lemon juice to keep it from browning. Note that the drink tastes best if allowed to sit in the freezer for about 20 minutes.
