Sure it's autumn and it's apple season and we've been baking them into cakes and tossing them into salads. Sometimes we even get a little crazy and just eat them as they are! When I was growing up my mother would frequently make me an afternoon snack of apple slices and cottage cheese...and yes, I loved it. Sometimes I still make it for myself although I can't quite seem to get Brian excited about the cottage cheese...
But today's recipe is not about childhood treats but, rather, a very adult one. Apples make great cocktails. Oh sure, you've probably seen those neon green apple martinis in trendy bars (what on earth is causing that color??) but this refreshing drink uses natural apple juice and lots of fragrant cinnamon. An absolutely perfect autumn cocktail. Cheers!
Per Serving:
2 oz. Vanilla vodka
1 1/2 oz. Unsweetened apple juice
1/2 oz. Simple syrup
1/2 oz. Lemon juice
Pinch of cinnamon
Fantastic martini for autumn!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great recipe, Anita. Very unique and oh so delicious! :)
ReplyDeleteIs it odd that I want one and it's 6 a.m.??
ReplyDeleteJust so happens I have all the ingredients and I am making this tonight. Or maybe this afternoon. It is Friday after all.
ReplyDeleteI can like almost smell this. How do you do that?!
ReplyDeleteI despise the neon green stuff; it's so artificial. I really don't know how people can drink the stuff.
ReplyDeleteThis cocktail looks so refreshing. I made a version of this last year. I infused the vodka with fresh apples and a few cinnamon sticks. It was amazing. I can't wait to try your version. I love vanilla vodka.
Grogeous garnish on this drink, Anita. Excellent discretion with the vanilla vodka too - this is perfect for Autumn entertainment or a cozy evening on the porch wrapped in a blanket.
ReplyDeleteDelicious! I'd take an apple cocktail any day of the week. Thank you for sharing with me.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so amazing..and so fall-ish!!

ReplyDeleteLove the vanilla vodka in this cocktail! And the cinnamon balances out the sweetness of the vodka and apple juice! I'll be making this one soon!
ReplyDeleteI would so much rather have this martini than the neon green variety! It looks delish!

ReplyDeleteSounds like a winner to me! Apple juice + booze = I'll have 4.
ReplyDeleteMmmm mmm! Looks so warming for a crisp fall day! I just made a big batch of Hard Cider Sangria, so I am right there with you on the apple kick!
