Chocolate, Chocolate and More...
I first met Joan from Chocolate, Chocolate and More at the Food Bloggers Network and the first thing she said to me was that I looked like Sandra Bullock. Needless to say I became instantly fond of her what with her astute intellect, impeccable taste and obviously poor vision. Her flattery notwithstanding, I've come to like Joan very much and love that a big city New York woman and a small town Georgia woman can find friendship and common ground. As for her food, well...given the title of her blog, I assume I'd be quite happy living in her house!
Joan is a busy wife and mom of three who really seems to enjoy her life in small town America. She'll tell you that her family gathers around the dinner table every night and talks, no televisions or phone distractions allowed. That's how I grew up as well so I can completely relate. When Joan is not creating decadent desserts or mistaking me for movie stars, she holds down jobs as a cook, taxi driver, house cleaner, laundress and homework checker. Personally, I'm happy when I get the dog walked so Joan is definitely my hero.
Speaking of decadent desserts, I've pretty much given up on pinning Joan's recipes because I would just have to pin her whole blog but if she offered to make me my favorites I would choose her Chocolate Pumpkin Spice Cake, Apple Pie Danish, Fried Dough (can I have that one twice??), Homemade Nutella and French Toast Casserole. She makes the French toast, by the way, with her homemade French bread. I mean, seriously! C'mon, admit it, you know you want to go live in Joan's house, too.

Sara is as passionate about music as she is about food and also writes a blog about the goings on in Indianapolis. Her delicious recipes come with stories from her life and I can relate to that. Food is personal and important and a large part of our experiences.
Now about that delicious food, some of my favorites from her blog are Beer Braised Chicken with Sriracha, One Pot Taco Mac (I love taco mac), Too Easy Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread and Emeril's Chicken and Biscuits with Red Eye Gravy (I LOVE biscuits and gravy). OK, now I'm hungry!
lovelovelove these sponsorrrs!
ReplyDeleteLOVE both these ladies and you are right Anita. Trying to pin all of Joan's posts is like chasing cats! I'm about to give Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate it's own board. Sara is a smart young woman who has great writing skills. I love her recipes and was honored when she and I became sponsors of each other's blogs! Sara just finished a great week with Emeril's new book about Kicked-Up Sandwiches and she made so many of them look so tasty she convinced me to buy the book - No one ever does that! :)
