My chocolate loving sweetheart came home with a bottle of Pinnacle Chocolate Whipped Vodka. He said he couldn't resist. We've tried the regular whipped before and used it to create a delicious Lemon Meringue Martini but the chocolate was a new flavor for us. We poured a little into a glass to taste and, once again, were not disappointed in Pinnacle. It has a good chocolate flavor and does not taste artificial. And, no, the Pinnacle people are not paying me for this post. Although, if they're reading this they should feel free to send me a bunch of money. Or some samples...
We've made a couple of chocolate cocktails before but they were designed for regular or vanilla vodka. So Brian set about creating a new drink with his new treasure. He kept experimenting and mixing and bringing me little samples to try. It got to the point where I had to sample them from under the table! So, we decided to sleep it off and try again the next day. A few more refinements (we have a tough life) and we had it. A really, really good new chocolate drink just in time for Valentine's Day. Although I suspect we'll be drinking it long after that. Cheers!
Per Serving:
1 1/2 oz. Pinnacle Chocolate
1 oz. Half & half (we used fat free)
1 oz. Chocolate liqueur
1 oz. Creme de Cacao
1 Teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 oz. Whipped cream topping (we used fat free)
1 Square of chocolate to shave over top
Combine the cocoa powder and half & half in a cup and microwave for approximately 20 seconds. Stir to make sure it's combined and microwave for a few more seconds, if needed. Allow a minute for it to cool and then pour it into a cocktail shaker along with the chocolate vodka, chocolate liqueur and creme de cacao. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well. Pour into chilled martini glasses and garnish with the whipped cream and dusting of chocolate, if desired.
If I drink...I would drink this :)

ReplyDeleteThe mental image I have of you getting steadily more bombed as you sampled the drinks keeps making me giggle. And NOW I have to get some of that flavor. I've tried the Key Lime, the Coconut and the Whipped Cream but was afraid of the artificial taste in the chocolate. Glad to know it doesn't taste that way

ReplyDeleteHi Chef Robert - I find that if I pipe on real cream, it will float on top but will flatten out a bit, as in these older photos. If you use an artificial cream (Cool Whip), the peaks will stay better. Hope that helps.
