Happy Passover!

Happy Passover!

This evening is the first night of Passover and the time when Jewish families will gather for a Seder. Some can be long and quite formal but, since there won't be any young children at our table, we'll do a simple celebration. The traditional requirement to avoid regular flour and leavening means there will be matzo instead of bread and dessert will be a rich, chocolaty flourless souffle cake. We'll also be serving some light and fluffy matzo balls and we'll take advantage of the matzos in the house with breakfasts of sweet matzo brie. But whether you celebrate Passover or Easter, we wish you a very happy holiday filled with family, friends and love.

  1. Happy Passover. I have never been part of a Passover celebration, but by these dishes I would say it sure looks like a delicious part of the celebration.

  3. Thank you for educating us about the Passover meal. I've attended a few Seder meals that are
so meaningful even though I am not Jewish, it's a part of my Christian History as well. Eldora

  4. Happy Passover! When I was in elementary school we studied and celebrated all religious celebrations. Each year at Passover, Fr. Fee would make matzo soup - I've never had them again but they are a wonderful dish! Your chocolate souffle' looks fantastic! Fr. Fee never made us anything like THAT! :)

  5. Happy Passover, my friend!! Growing up, we used to eat a traditional Passover meal on Holy Thursday...Catholic style! I'm sure there were many faux pas, but it was great fun to do the readings, etc. Wish we had YOUR menu back then!
