Have you ever stared longingly at a photo of a dessert on a recipe site
and wished you could just order it instead of having to
make it? If so, it's your lucky day! Well, actually, tomorrow is your
lucky day but I wanted to give you some notice. A group of my fellow
bloggers and I will be offering our baked goods in an auction to help a
sweet doggie named Muffin.

She was rescued in a sad state. Frightened, emaciated and in horrible
pain. It's hard to accept some of the evil that people can do but, not
only was she so terribly neglected and unloved, but someone threw a
chemical on her which severely burned her. After such treatment, she
would have every reason to hate humans and want to attack them. But
instead, she is a sweet loving dog who craves petting and belly rubs. I
think that just makes what happened to her even worse.

But dwelling in the past won't help anything and Muffin's future is
looking much brighter. Under the excellent medical care and
ministrations of the
Response-a-Bull
rescue group and her initial foster mom, she's being treated and
properly fed. But there is still a long road and much more medical
treatment required before she is out of danger and that will be
expensive. Fortunately, one big blessing has already arrived in that
she has found a forever home with my blogger friend Kita of
Pass the Sushi. Safe in Kita's loving arms, I have no doubt that Muffin will heal but there are still all those medical bills.
So, tomorrow you will have a chance to bid, not only on my ridiculously
delicious dessert, but also on dozens and dozens of others. Stop by in
the morning for information on how to enter the bidding and for a link
to all the delectable goodies. So, do a good deed and eat delicious
dessert. Sounds like a win-win situation to me. And, if you're curious
about what's in the photo - my offering is a rich chocolate cake,
studded with chocolate and peanut butter chips and glazed with a salted
peanut butter sauce that will make you want to lick the cake, lick the
spoon and lick the box I ship it to you in. See you tomorrow!
Beautiful Anita. Your words brought tears to my eyes...
ReplyDeleteOh... the cake did too!! ;)
Beautiful words.
Terrible what was done to Muffin. My heart hurts every time I think about it. At least she is on the road to recovery and will continue to get care thanks to bloggers and others with loving big hearts.
ReplyDeleteMakes me angry every time I think about Muffins previous owners. It's sweet people like Kita that make this world a better place. Oh and I want that cake.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait for the bidding to begin. I know I am going to have a hard time picking what I want to get.
ReplyDeleteJust read about muffin in another blog... How this happens in beyond us.. We are such animal lovers... Hoping muffin recovers soon..
ReplyDeleteAnita, my heart goes out to poor Muffin for such horrible treatment he had to endure by cruel and insane humans. Sadly there's so many neglected animals out there...we hear about quite a few in our area in S. Florida, as well. Most of the ones in our area are left alone outside in the heat without food or water to just die!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful and caring cause, by you and others. The cake is scrumptious...ooey-goey, delicious!
I love what you are doing for Muffin. Her luck turned around when she found you!
ReplyDeleteAmazing!!! Wonder I able do that? Hehe….
ReplyDeleteMuffin has the best - stress BEST - {foster/forever} mom! I can't believe what was done to Muffin and I'm so thankful that Kita has her now. There are some seriously divine treats on this auction :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sentiment and cake Anita. I just love this cake. It looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteMy baby Max was abused too - I don't even know what to say because I know how Max is so fearful of loud noises and if I leave him outside to long - how he cries and wales. we've had him 5 years and I don't think he will ever forget. Bless you all especially Kits!
