If you think that I'm capable of walking past a package of chocolate chips stuffed with peanut butter then it's obvious that we've never met. It was definitely one of those "stopped in my tracks" moments in the baking aisle when there, next to the chocolate chips and the peanut butter chips, was the combo of my dreams. Thank you, Nestle, for your new DelightFulls filled baking morsels. Or snacking morsels, as the case may be. Or just buy two and do both.
I had been contemplating what homemade gifts to send out this year and I guess cookies seemed the easiest. But somehow these special chips inspired me to make more special treats.
And so I baked little snack cakes and wrapped them in bows. And for those cooks in your life, you can include the little mini loaf pan as part of the gift.
I made moist, peanut butter snack cakes and, when I bit into a piece (purely for quality control purposes, of course) the chocolate baking morsel melted in my mouth and oozed out the creamy peanut butter filling. I would have happily done lots of quality control testing if I didn't have to get them shipped out. Enjoy!
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 50 Minutes
Ingredients (4 Cakes, 2 Servings Each)
- 1 Egg
- 1 Cup peanut butter
- 3/4 Cup sugar
- 1 Cup milk
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla
- 2 Cups all purpose flour
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon salt
- 1 Package (9 oz.) Nestle Toll House Milk DelightFulls Chocolate Morsels with Peanut Butter Filling
Instructions
Add the egg, peanut butter and sugar to a bowl and beat together using a stand or hand mixer until thoroughly combined. Beat in the milk and vanilla. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Pour the baking morsels into a separate bowl and toss with one tablespoon of the flour mixture. This will prevent the morsels from sinking to the bottom while baking.
Add the flour mixture into the wet batter and mix until incorporated. Fold in the baking morsels and pour the batter into the prepared pans. Bake for 40 - 50 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.

How sweet of you to wrap my loaf in a bow for Christmas :D I've had the caramel and cherry ones but have yet to try the peanut butter. Those are next on my list!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope I'm on your list :) I tend to do a lot of snacking throughout the day, so this would be perfect. Pinned.
