Let's talk about warm weather drinks. Um...OK, wait. First let's talk about getting some warm weather. It's coming, right? New York has been doing the April showers brings May flowers thing and it's been a little nippy. But I know from experience that we'll wake up one of these days soon and run to turn on the air conditioners.
So, back to the warm weather drinks. Yes, I've spent plenty of summers firing up the blender for frozen daiquiris but alcohol options for picnics usually seem to be limited to wine and beer. But I have a cooler and ice packs and adorable leak proof bottles so why can't the cocktails come along?
I became a huge fan of Chila 'Orchata Cinnamon Cream Rum pretty much the second I tasted it. The Puerto Rican rum, cream, vanilla and cinnamon are all the delicious things I love so why have I only sipped it and not used it in cocktails yet?
Clearly I needed to rectify that mistake and since rum makes me think of daiquiris and cinnamon makes me think of pie, that's how I ended up with a creamy, cinnamon-y, fruity drink. It's so good and totally portable and, um, dangerously easy to drink. Cheers!
